Barack Obama is by no means a perfect presidential candidate. Surely, once he secures the nomination, the GOP will dig up all sorts of things they can use to label him ‘dangerous’, ‘reckless’, ‘cowardly’ and ‘inexperienced’. I’m sure he expects it as part of the political process. It’s not like he doesn’t have a war hero on his side who was turned into a cowardly lion by the GOP political machine.
That said however, we delve into these files to point out a few things that the anti-Obama movement (heck, if Obama gets a movement, why doesn’t the other side?) may want to avoid:
- When Karl Rove, Master of the Subtle Smear, warns you against demagoguing Obama’s middle name … it’s probably a bad idea to continue to do so.
- When the army says they have no reason to doubt Obama’s claims of troop and weapons shortages, you probably don’t want to keep calling him a liar.
- When the man in charge of getting your campaign’s message out complains that voters ‘misunderstood’ the message, you’ve likely got a big problem somewhere along the line. That man is also likely not doing his job and he may be an idiot, but I digress…
- When a man who supported your campaign from the beginning, and has said he has “a deep and abiding love” for you and your husband, announces he is throwing his support to Obama because “Sometimes, you have to be on the right side of history,” you might want to examine what is happening here.
- And when your response to the above defection contains the phrase “At the end of the day, it’s not about who is supporting us,” you might want to rethink your approach to this whole ‘politics’ thang.
But those are just my tips for the day. Your mileage might vary. Dumbasses.
